I am a Ph.D Student in Computer Engineering in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI ) at the University of Bologna. My research is mainly focused on cloud computing infrastructures and the autonomic management in big data centers.

I'm interested in decentralized solution for virtual machine allocation and migration, both dealing with distributed policy and protocol interations analysis.

My current research includes:

• open cloud computing infrastructures;
• virtualization and power metering problems;
• autonomic computing and self-organizing systems;
• nature-inspired distributed policies;

I am also interested in:

• swarm intelligent behaviours;
• self-* systems;
• collective motion challenges.

Past and current research projects include:

• The DAM-Sim — (Distributed Autonomic Management Simulator): a software able to simulate the behavior of different decentralized policies for cloud virtual infrastructure management. The interactions between hosts of the data center follow a purpose-built protocol inspired by the communication machanisms inside the human society.
