REDMAN Simulation Results

To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we have extensively simulated the behavior of the dense MANET identification and manager election solutions in the USC ISI NS-2 simulator. The code developed to simulate the REDMAN protocols in NS2 is available here. The conducted simulations have three main goals:

The deployment scenarios used in the tests consist of randomly positioned nodes in a square area. We divide the area in two zones, a larger External Square (ES), with a smaller Internal Square (IS) inside. Nodes are distributed so that the IS density is relevantly higher than the ES one. Where not differently specified, we have used default NS2 values for simulation parameters, e.g., constant 250m circular transmission ranges, bi-directional connectivity, and IEEE 802.11 link layer protocol.
