Research interests

My current affiliation is DISI (Department of computer science and engineering at Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna). I also collaborate with:

• IRIDIA (Institut de Recherches Interdisciplinaires et de Développements en Intelligence Artificielle) - Université Libre de Bruxelles.
• NAXYS (Namur Center for Complex Systems) - Université de Namur.

My interests are in artificial intelligence and complex systems. Main themes are:

• Robotics and bio-inspired robotics
• Boolean networks and other genetic regulatory network models
• Emergence in complex systems
• Automatic design and optimisation of complex systems (mainly by means of metaheuristics)
