PHD Internal Architecture

The PHD architecture consists of three main components that interwork to handle the core management functions: vertical handoff prediction, wireless infrastructure ranking, and adaptation action selection. The Vertical Handoff Predictor (VHP) realizes lightweight and completely decentralized handoff pre-diction via only local access to client devices. The other two components, also deployed at the client node, are the Wireless Infrastructure Classifier (WIC) and the Adaptation Action Selector (AAS). Below figure shows all main PHD components and their interactions.
