Transforming from the Command Line with Xalan

To run a transform from the command line, you initiate a Xalan Process class using the following command: 

java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process 
  -IN article3.xml   -XSL article3.xsl

Note: Remember to use the endorsed directories mechanism to access the Xalan libraries, as described in Compiling and Running the Program.

With this command, the output goes to System.out. The -OUT option can also be used to output to a file.
